The textured pattern of the fabric on this shirt is beautifully subtle, creating an elegant garment. The photos on the website don't do it justice. I have paired my grey shirt with the grey Shaolin Monk pants, and together they create a simple and refined look. As with every garment I have purchased from Best Chinese Clothing, the craftsmanship is excellent.
I have now purchased many pieces from Best Chinese Clothing, and all have been very well made with durable, high quality materials and beautiful seams. The tai chi set feels wonderful with a lovely drape. The collar (for lack of a better word) is very stiff, so it holds its shape. This results in a slight bowing out on mine as it goes across the chest, creating a gap of about an inch, but this might flatten with washing and wearing more.
I will start with the positives. The materials used for this product are quite good quality. The fake fur feels warm, and the hat is soft and also sturdy, keeping its main shape with flexibility. I also like the features this hat has that makes it special compared to basically any other Lei Feng hat (or ushanka) that I've seen online. Its secondary ear flaps and its mouth guard are very nice features, and the buttons on the hat to attach them are properly placed. This closely resembles the PLA winter hats from the Mao era! All that's missing is the red star that I attached
With that being said, the hat is quite small. It is not a tall hat (the front flap isn't even 10 cm, or 4 inches, tall), and the inside of the hat is quite tight for my head. Also, the stitching of the buttons is not great, as the excess thread on them shows. Above all, this is not worth $25 with $10 shipping. I would not spend more than $20 in total for this item, except this was the only English-language vendor I saw that could easily provide a hat with the accessories unique to PLA hats of the Mao period. I gave 3 stars because it does the job I need and is of decent quality, but it is too pricy and has issues

I'm very pleased to have finally found a place where I can buy Tangzhuang and I really enjoy wearing the shirt. I ordered a Medium but they changed it to Large which was great. I think Medium would have been too tight around the armpits and neck. The shirt shrunk a little bit after washing it but that is to be expected. I will try XL on my next order to allow a bit more headroom for shrinking.
I also ordered a pair of Solid Tang Pants in the same size and color, and they match perfectly. Very nice!
